100 Spartans will not be jumping out of a Pelican in ‘Halo Infinite’, confirms writer and content creator for 343 Industries, Jeff Easterling. While taking questions on a Mixer social stream, Jeff stated that “The only BR we’re really interested in, is the Battle Rifle…” when asked if Battle Royale will come to Halo Infinite. Obviously referencing a classic weapon from the series, Jeff then quipped “The original BR, so calm yourself.”

This comes as a surprise as the Battle Royale game mode has taken Multiplayer Gaming by storm, popularised by games like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite: Battle Royale. Other veteran game franchises have also begun to adopt this game type recently, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 introducing their own take on the Battle Royale formula with “Blackout” and Battlefield V adding a Royale mode “re-imagined for Battlefield” after launch.

Halo: Infinite was announced at the beginning of Microsoft’s E3 2018 Press Conference, showing off a new engine, named ‘Slipspace Engine’, and promises to pickup the story from Halo 5: Guardians. Halo: Infinite is coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 but currently has no release date.
